Ian Forsyth
I am a documentary photographer based in the North of England. I have recently completed a long and varied 22-year career with the British Army, the last 6 years of which I worked as an army photographer supplying images to regional and national press and news agencies on activities that the military were involved with. Some of the events that I covered involved operational deployments to Iraq and Afghanistan and other day to day activities including such things as parades, sporting events, VIP visits and repatriations and military exercises. During my career I have deployed to, or visited, sometimes on more than one occasion Iraq, Afghanistan, Bosnia, Kosovo, Northern Ireland, Cyprus, USA, Canada, Oman, France, Belgium, Holland, Germany and Kenya. After completing my engagement with the military I am now free to pursue my passion for photography that I have had for nearly 20 years and to further my passion for documenting issues on both a local and global level.
